Blimey we\'ve packed loads of stuff in...

Friday night we headed up to Kippen -n beautiful Stirlingshire - to The Cross Keys to help our plas Debs and Brian celebrate five years in business.  Gotta say we had a great night and it was wicked to see the pub SO packed; full to the rafters with a brilliant bunch of locals.  Debs and Brian arranged a lush barbeque (their chef is awesome) and they added generous booze hospitality so everyone gorged and boozed.  In an elegant way, of course....

Yesterday, though stricken with a hangover, we threw ourselves into the day and packed in some great DIY achievement.  Taking charge and doing it for ourselves, and all against the backdrop of a gorgeous Glasgow sky, we made a real difference.  So what did we do?  Well loads, actually.  We sanded, stained and revarnished our decking, completely painted our basement garden walls and cleared and jet washed the basement area of another of our properties; one which we run as a business centre.

This done, we brought in an MASSIVE super king size (brand new, unused) four poster bed which we rooted out in a charity furniture store that has been clearing some excess furniture from a local hotel. £280 - and all still in its original unopened packaging! If anyone else would like one there are several more at The Heart Foundation store on Dumbarton Road in Glasgow. Deal of the week! - probably worth six times that which we paid.  We're like sniffer dogs for a good opportunity!

Last night our pal Peter joined us to watch some Olympics and we screamed with joy as Mo F won gold and Tom Daley took bronze.  These really have been gripping Olympic Games and we've made a decision that we'll certainly be heading over to Rio to see if they can do it all with such grace as Britain.  We're sure that'll be a wonderful affair...

Today brings more DIY - painting the garden walls of the business centre (the ones that were prepared and jet washed by us yesterday) and then we're going to the gym.  Gotta keep the bod's in check...

Trust this finds you all well.  We head back to Canada soon.  Just six more sleeps and from Toronto, a couple of days after we arrive, we're off to New York on business.

More later,

C and J x
