Good morning LA on this, the last day of 2011

Happy Hogmanay - it's 5.45am in Los Angeles and we've just awakened. Too excited to stay in bed, so sitting instead on the terrazzo with our feet dangling in the infinity pool that looks down onto the ocean. There's a 'Susie Cakes' cupcake winking at us and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee is jolting my senses. No one else is up yet, so we're breathing in the hillside air and watching as the vaguest hint of sunrise starts to take shape. If we could capture, and bottle, a moment...we'd keep this one forever...
