Dyson versus Hoover?

Out of interest - has anyone else had ongoing problems with Dyson's? We've had perhaps 6 in 8 years and they've been VERY problematic. Got a Hoover today and it made a super job of the problems our Dyson's couldn't. All, of course, IOHO, but so much for never losing suction. From now on we're a Hoover household. End of. But as we said, we're curious to know if we've just been unlucky with these expensive Dyson's. Cheers, C &J x
