The Daily Record Our Heroes Awards

But, hell mend us, we have the mother of all hangovers this morning!

We've been lucky enough to attend this glittering event for the last few years as columnists with The Sunday Mail, sister paper of The Record.  The event is staged to honour those who have done good work for their community, for charity our in the armed services.  It recognises children who have battled injustice or illness and adults who have relentlessly put others before themselves.

Guests at the event, which was masterfully hosted by Tam Cowan and Jackie Bird, included the cast of River City, Colin MCreedie and Blythe Duff as well as The Wanted who sang their cute wee hearts out before partying with guests until the wee small hours.  Eliza Doolitle also belted out a couple of numbers and had the audience eating out of the palm of her hands.  VERY well done.

With the ceremony in the bag, The Hilton served as backdrop to a fun crowd of revellers (us included) who partied until 2ish before we all went to a crazy aftershow bash in the foyer bar.

So, as you can imagine, we're feeleing a wee bit tender of head this morning.  But we had to be bright eyed and bushy tailed as we had a meeting at 11am with David from MTC who work works with us on our website.  We're working on the site at the moment which will see some new additions as well as a whole new colur scheme.  Watch this space!

So now we're staying home all day, working on various media projects, so that we can be once again clear headed for this evening when the fun starts over again.  Tonight we're off to The Chas Miss Scotland Tiara ball and we imagine there'll be more serious partying to be done.  We'll report back.

Hope this finds you all well, hale and hearty,

More later,

Colin and Justin xx
