Send me David Tennant and a Tardis, it's the only way I'm going to live through the 266 hours, 46 minutes and 48 seconds between now and next Friday night.:D:D:D

Matt brought home a colour chart on Saturday morning so whilst he was in the garden Saturday afternoon I started stripping the paper and paint (funny how paint peels off like paper where there are two or more layers lol). Can't wait to get started redecorating - big job though, new fireplace to be boxed in, new architraves for both doors and new skirting, new carpet, new lightshade - then I can't wait to go shopping for new soft furnishings :)

I am doing up my new front room at the moment, in a very ecclectic and personal style. One wall is in danger of looking a bit gormless, and i love art, especially cool vintage posters, i think i am going to cover the entire top half of the wall in art (with a border of plain wall around the edge), like my own little private members gallery :) I want the frames to be arranged haphazzardly and jumbled (not a neat lined up look), but for them also to be a perfect rectangle so that the outer edges are straight (hope i am explaining myself properly, i wish i could draw what i mean).

Anyway, to get to the point, i am thinking of using mainly a3 posters (in proper frames), with a few smaller (like a4) dotted in between. I am worried these frames will be too big and too overpowering as i have only ever seen small frames jumbled up in this fashion. Should i go for it, or should i think a bit smaller? Any advice would be appreciated as i am really not sure. :D

That is a "huge" sectional! Who says size doesn't matter. LOL
Plenty of room for guests too... hint, hint. ;)

Love the bathroom too, but have a question?? Why do you not have mirrors above your sinks? Do you not want to see your fabulous faces early in the morning?

Again, I have to say your pad is FAB!

Cheers,

Hello everyone...

It has finally arrived...my finished porch roof, railings and stairs. I also added a photo of what my house looked like when I purchased it 4.5 years ago. I know, I know, what was I thinking. I believe it was desperation at the time.. anyway I digress...

The porch has gone through some changes in the last years like not having a porch roof at all, which I liked too but gave no shelter.

I chose the "taupe" (I can hear the boos now from you Boyz) because I thought if i used an actual colour of which I was going with a Heritage blue at the would take away focus from the garden. Plus I tend to get tired of things very quickly. I added the black details because 1. I LOVE black and 2. I thought it gave a sophistication to the taupe.

Oh, don't look at the ladder in the top window.. we were putting up drapes that day. LOL

Anyway, thats my "finally finished" porch. We have been getting quite a few compliments on it and my next door neighbour and a neighbour down the street feel their porches need a "sprucing up" as well. Which is a great boost for the neighbourhood.

Cheers

1. house when I bought it( pic is pixelated because it was from the actual MLS listing.
2. my house now.
3. closer pic.

I always enjoy looking at the new stuff that C&J put in their blogs, and never get used to the topsy turvy seasons. While you folks are starting to think autumn (or that atrocious word "fall") we Aussies are looking towards spring. Check out the online catalogue at www.ozdesign.com.au, their purple leather lounge suite is orgasmic. Where is that lottery win when you need it?

Am now (reluctantly) thinking about packing away the purple satin quilt for the warmer months, and wondering what to replace it with. Something light and bright. Given that my room is now soft lilac with lots of white furniture and timberwork, and a fair bit of silver, any suggestions?

Cheers

So, our master bedroom has twisted bamboo (pale cream) walls, a dark chocolate twist carpet, chocolate curtains, cream and chocolate tiling in the en suite...we stripped back the sliding wardrobe doors so they are plain pine, our headboard is knotted pine....my question now...

Do you reckon pine bedroom furniture would be nice? I'm thinking old, knotted pine...all we need is two bedside cabinets and a tallboy...

Also, one for C et J, do you know of anywhere in Glasgow we could get something really nice but at a reasonable price?

Thanks muchly guys, hope you all have a fab weekend

Now I know where this Scottish phrase comes from after a hard week of job hunting to no avail! Still waiting to hear back from a couple of places but man oh man it's hard to get back into the workplace after all this time - even moreso than I expected and I can almost hear the employers' thoughts "Oh, she hasn't worked for five years, she will be rusty AND she had two young children!" The will reckon I am not reliable and don't have a clue.

Have tried a few online jobs like this too - a Chat Room Host/Moderator and Bingo Host/Moderator - so fingers crossed I hear back from them as they would be ideal! :)
